    Monkey!!!

    What have you DONE!!

Poor Elvis… he trusted you cos you’re my boss.

He was so embarrassed to be running around with his trunk wide open and his rear showing….to say nothing of losing half my stuff that was in there.

No removing parts from Elvis…. EVER again!

    And the Tiki!The Tiki!

Fenton is fit to be tied!

He was actually barking at the mess! I’ve never heard him bark.

Between the two of them, I’ve run through half a box of Milk Bones trying to get some quiet.

(I soaked a few in brandy… that helps.)

The grinder lid has been spotted up on Elm street…I’m gonna ask Sid to go get it back, cos he’s dropping by tonight for his check….no one argues with a 7 foot tall gorilla.

He has always worried that there might come a day… just maybe… when he discovers a great vacuum in his life.

Shika… didn’t get back in time to answer you before the turn…

but, while I HOPE there’s still a chance for it…

I fear that my computer, alas, is no more… it has possibly ceased to be.

In fact, it appears to be pining for the fjords…sniffle….

(I’m speaking somewhat euphemistically in case it can hear me.I don’t want to discourage its efforts to reawaken.)

I’ve had a long run, over the last few weeks, of crashes and freezes and sometimes successful efforts at resuscitation… but .now …… sigh….

Meanwhile, I’m able to be here because I’ve bought a laptop.. a major purchase for me…and I’m trying to get it set up, find the programs and folders, and even learn how to use it, whenever it differs from a desktop computer.I’ve never had a laptop before…OR Windows 8.

That’s part of the reason I haven’t been doing pictures or even been around as much as usual.

And DRY… that’s why there have been no pictures for you, either…

But I’ve written to both addresses, customer service first, and then, when I remembered how it works, the moderators…

I’m not sure how much good it does to keep saying it in the forums cos I’m not convinced they’re read by the mods…

but… just so you know I’m with you….

    FREE DRY!

Speaking of which…. I’ve gotten that same form letter, the one that Six quoted, several times in the past, as well as last week.

Some people have noted this time that they got it too, but the “ticket number” is different on theirs….that’s because it’s a number they assign to your complaint, not to Dry’s case. What usually happens is that you’ll get another message, saying the problem is “resolved” and “the ticket is closed.”But I have had correspondence with them in the past over this…when I was trying to help spring Dogsniff and Number Six and at least one other ex friend of mine…and I can tell you that in itself, that message means nothing… and NOT that Dry is out of jail. What it means is that customer service, which you reach via the “Contact Us” link, doesn’t deal with forum issues. So they’ve “resolved” it by passing it on to the moderators, who do…but they don’t use those complaint ticket numbers.Meanwhile the moderators are deliberating…. and may or may not have released her.But that’s why it’s better to write directly to Moderator@GoComics.com

@Susan, Please let us know how everything precedes with the changeover to laptop and many of us (myself included) will soon be trying the same.

Since getting my newest PC under Dell’s warranty (but with a newer version of windows), I could not re-install AutoCAD (and I’m not about to put out the $$ for a newer version) and these replacement PCs seem just a little less reliable. My son just suggested this week that I partition the HD and put an earlier windows on the other part, but that’s a lot of hassle (to figure JUST how big a partition etc) with this one possibly on last legs.

In the meantime I am trying to keep backups current (even trying the cloud programs besides backups on my external drives). I recommend both.

Well, it serves him right for trying to read a book, comb his hair, count his money, and chew gum while he was vacuuming!
