    Schools are supposed to teach kids ideas and concepts not miscellaneous facts, although it’s good that Teach is encouraging her pupils to use memory aids.

    Anyone older than 54… were you taught “HOMES” in school. I only learned about it when I was an adult.

    Born and raised in Michigan, I’ve never heard of any of these mnemonics before.I guess it helps when most of the lakes are on your doorstep.

    I’m going to start using “SHMOE.” I learned “HOMES” in a crossword puzzle years ago.
