It’s obvious that many respondents are feeling flushed and have managed to get a handle on the sit-u-ation !

The trick is to teach courtesy. The child needs to learn that it is rude to interrupt. In the event of an emergency, they should be taught to interrupt & clearly state the nature of the emergency.
