What about the Republican mantra of cutting income (taxes), and then borrowing to cover costs that are increased unnecessarily (like two unfunded wars in the Middle East, Department of Homeland Security, $12 Billion in cash sent with Paul Bremer to Iraq, which he lost every cent of within less than a year and couldn’t account for it)?
This is NOT to say that liberal policies did not contribute, but you cannot factually say that all of he debt is due to liberals alone. If you do, you undermine your posts.
Oh, please. The Republicans caused the government shut down. That’s why they are being blamed. They had the bill needed to keep government open on John Boehner’s desk a week before the shut down, and they even had the votes to pass it, but didn’t bring it up. Because they saw America as a valuable hostage to overturn the results of elections that they could not win. Thank goodness the Democrats called their bluff and struck a strong blow for constitutional democracy. Elections have consequences.
