We get in a political reference now and then. We’re allowed. What we don’t like is when we haven’t made a political statement, yet the reader comments still go that way. There’s a difference.

I respect the president but as an ex-web site designer and programmer they really dropped the ball on this one.

@rollsroyce… no need to shout. We can hear you.…I am one of those people who is losing their current health care coverage due to the changes. I tried to get on the site the weekend after it went live, and got nowhere. I will be trying again, but it is pretty frustrating that I have to change policies since I will never get pregnant and am pretty sure I am in no need of mental health coverage. Those two items were optional on my old plan, but they are no longer optional. I hope they get the bugs on the site worked out so I can find a less expensive option than what my current carrier offered in place of the old policy. More money, less coverage. Bleah.

While we defend freedom of speech and respect your right to your views, we’d rather that readers show the discretion and judgement not to choose words like ’w*****k" on the site.

Maybe I’m projecting, but it looks like Carolina has a smirk like she knows she made the best one-liner ever.

I forget who made it, but I agree with the comment; “Whether or not you respect the man, you should always respect the position.” Someone said that right after Obama’s first election. I don’t respect him, and can’t understand how he was elected to a second term, but he has the job and deserves the support that position entails.

Me thinks Melvin could be a little overqualified for the job. Of course if ya wanna rage at gummint try dealing with the Veterans Administration disability program. A saying that has a root of bitter truth in it comes from that. “Delay, Deny, Wait for Me to Die.” And that is NOT President Obama’s fault, try a series of legislators that don’t really care over a period of more than 65 years.

Seems to be a sad truth of human nature, that those who have a clearer vision don’t have the powerlust that drives some to seek office. Those that do seek the power really don’t care to listen to those who can see clearly. And if the clear-sighted do become involved in the process, the power-hungry know a lot of tricks to get them out of the way. Still, some will get involved and will fight the uphill battle. It just takes longer, going uphill.

BTW, does this mean Melvin is leaving the strip? (fingers crossed that it does)

I always figured the problems were the powers that be didn’t test it enough…

I just wonder how much Congress not being able to get their act together and give the Federal Agencies a budget so they could do their jobs had an effect on the rollout (fyi – I am playing devil’s advocate here).

Got it. Trolling the political cartoon readers for an extra boost to the ratings is so easy, a caveman could do it.

I don’t think Melvin sleeps, as Ed does. He just wastes time.
