The cartoon unfortunately is accurate. Democrats don’t need to “compromise” because the majority of the press will side with them, no matter what. Harry Reid should have been burned at the stake for that “why would we want to do that?” remark (relating to cancer treatments for children) yet the media gave him a pass and this makes Democrats rightfully arrogant.
Should have had the boy answer, “We’re Congressmen.” While the Republicans are having their problems, the Dems have had their own, less volatile, infighting with the “Blue Dog Dems” who voted with Republicans. Both parties are mindlessly pursuing their own hungers. Money, power, and secure futures as lobbyists, consultants, or perhaps headliners on a news program. It is equally appropriate that they are going door to door taking from people without giving anything of value in return and acting like children if they don’t get what they want.“Trick or Treat” is a statement of extortion. Give us a treat, or we’ll give you a trick. Busted pumpkins, lawns covered in toilet paper.It is way past time the self serving members of our political parties, and their extreme wings quit taking high salaries and extravagant "retirement benefits’ and start working with each other to find solutions without resorting to divisive tactics and inflammatory language.
