I see Barry The Great Excuse is already blaming the 2 week shutdown for the inevitable 2 year continuation of his disastrous first 5 years.Obviously Barry already told his minions like Tommy Trolls to just blame all his failures on the Tea Party. His low-info supporters will drink it up.
The Tea Party went into the shutdown with no realistic goals. They did not have the votes to stop the ACA, but promised their base that they would do just that. They managed to get the House GOP leaders to go along, but should have realized the Senate & Obama were not going to yield on the ACA. Reagan was able to impose his agenda, despite the fact that Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress. Of course, both sides had a firm grasp on what was achievable back then.If they were decent politicians, the Tea Party Reps would have had a clear idea of what they would take in exchange for letting the government limp along till 2014. They didn’t & walked away with little to show. Maybe the saner folk in the GOP will prevail upon them to base their plans on what they can realistically extract from the Democrats. Maybe.
Wait, wait … Republicans, you’re right. Tea Party, you’re right. You did the right thing. In fact, you should do it again. Go ahead, do something like that again. In fact, do it just before the 2014 election. Please?
Two interesting articles about tea party candidates/leaders:An Idaho candidate decries Obamacare, while having 10 kids on Medicare. Claims no hypocrisy because he should avail himself of legally available products/services. He doesn’t like property taxes, but pays them. Doesn’t like professional/state licenses, but uses providers that have them. Is against building codes, but follows them. OY!An Oregon tea party leader hasn’t paid property taxes in three years, and has managed to stay ahead of the law. Article specifically stated they “couldn’t find him.”

It’s way more clever than you all think. They were playing “good gop vs. bad gop.” You’ll see.
