I believe that Mark is alluding to the fact that all birds are descended from dinosaurs, just as all dogs are descended from wolves. Distant relatives indeed!
It is amazing that a few changes in DNA makes the difference between Dino and bird. Now, it is time for our scientists to get back to work on the 4-legged chicken so every kid at the dinner table can have a drum stick. It has only been 3 decades since they started.
