Right. It’s Obama’s fault for not signing a bill that the GOP can’t even pass and put on his desk. The GOP’s refusal to work with the senate for seven months — because they HAD to wait until they could take the economy hostage to avoid talking about revenue — is why America’s international reputation is that of a country controlled by spoiled, stupid, venal ideologues who can’t accept the basic tenets of democracy or economics.

Notice how ConGov is always ready to tell us what he hates or despises. But I can’t remember him ever saying what he likes and admires. He knows what he is against, but doesn’t seem to know what he if for. The government spends too much money. Okay. Start there. The ACA is by all measures revenue neutral, repealing it would not change the budget picture. Large reductions in military expenditures would change the situation. Repealing ACA, Medicare and Medicaid all three would create huge savings. And bankrupt or kill a lot of old folks who cannot afford otherwise to pay for their medicine and treatment. Reneging on Social Security promises. Raising revenue would help, but I am sure you’re against that. Eliminating the laws that are intended to keep our water, air, and food clean and wholesome? Or require manufacturers to tell the truth about what they sell? Let the buyer beware? That would stimulate local industry as no one would dare buy anything unless it was from a known source. Large companies would work to maintain their reputations. It might not wreck the economy. Pollution would again grow rampant, but we’d get used to that, and the increase of morbidity would reduce the surplus population. But the fact is, that eliminating the EPA, the FDA, etc. would hardly make a dent in the budget. So what do you think SHOULD be done? If you were in charge, if your views won elections and your views governed Washington, what would it look like? Stop bitching and start prescribing! Don’t tell us who you would get rid of. Tell us what you would do!

Funny that word “entitlements”. Have you ever considered what is means? In the Virginia Declaration of Rights (one of my favorite documents) of 1776, one of the rights mentioned is “that all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion.” That’s correct, folks. Rights = Entitlements = Rights. There is no essential difference is saying that people have too many entitlements and saying they have too many rights. Maybe they do, maybe they don’t. It is correct, however, to remember that the terms mean the same thing.

All this arguing over one simple thing, to many years of tax cuts, too many tax credits to big business, not enough fiscal responsibility, far too many years of blaming the other side.now here’s the idea to cut funding social programs, continue escalating defense, NSA, and tax cuts to the wealthiest corporations, allow tax loopholes that allow offshore bank accounts, and increase taxes to the middle class.

Per Lewis Black: “Anyone that can convince people who don’t have a pot to piss in that wealthy people need tax breaks is truly a leader.”

Leaders like that we can do without.

I Play One On TV: I don’t care who this Lewis Black is; I prefer Hugo Black: “Most of our most cherished rights were won in defense of people who were not quite nice.” That is the only reason I defend your right to post blather.
