A gentleman I worked with years ago handed me a jar of marbles on my first day on the job. I was asked to select one and carry it with me at all times (particularly at work) as he did not want to work with anyone who had lost their marbles. That was almost 14 years ago and I still carry it.

What was said slowly dawns on Calvin. True for all of us from time to time.

I love these strips where Calvin is clueless he’s just been insulted by his own words!

Calvin insults:Two slices short of a loaf. The wheel’s spinning, but the hamster’s dead.Couldn’t pour water out of a boot with instructions on the heel.Elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top floor. As useful as screen doors on a submarine.Goalie for the dart team.If you give him a penny for his thoughts, you get change back.If you stand close enough to him, you can hear the ocean.Operating in stand-by mode.He fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down. And, in keeping with today’s comic – Sharp as a marble.

In Hook, Tootles did lose his marbles. Peter later returned them to him.
