What is it with cops and doughnuts anyway?

Sam’s a rare commodity these days, a happily married man who doesn’t believe in cheating.

I was just wondering yesterday about Fritz Ann. Do you think she knows about The Black Hearts? If they really came from outside the country like I was speculating, the FBI would likely be aware of it. In any case, they are likely national in scope, even if not international.

Looks like a mob war may be about to break out…those are always entertaining from a murder and mayhem point of view.

Dick is sure pleased as Fritz Ann makes bedroom eyes at him! Tess better watch out!

I couldn’t wait! Although my 79th birthday is not until Sunday, I changed my avatar to an image Stagger Lee did last year. I liked it so much that I’m using it to help me celebrate my birthday with my GoComics friends!

Why Fritz Ann? Isn’t Lizz. enough? Besides they are drawn so similar they look like twins to me and it’s confusing.

By the by, anyone else notice how the lamp over tracy’s head in the last panel is shaped like a heart? how cute :) lol

so it seems things at the FBI are “too quiet” huh? must be because they werent getting paid thanks to the government shutting down.

ten will get you twenty that fritz ann will give tracy some info regarding the black hearts gang. seems she has her finger in EVERY pie that comes along lately. first it was blackjack, then the showdown with mr crime, then bardoll and the apparatus, now its gonna be the black hearts gang. doesnt seem to be THAT quiet to me.

whatever happened to jim trailer? did he get killed on or off panel, or did he retire and fritz ann is his replacement?!? anyone know? Jim, Marg, VB, Ray, Tarry, Rene, Syd?!?!

Hippy Bathday, Vista Bill!

“Easily portable calories” is an excellent summary. Cops on the beat or on call needed something quick and easy to eat, and that was something that was readily and quickly available. Not the only thing for sure, nor was it the only “eat on the run” item enjoyed by police, but it is the one that caught the imagination of the general public and became a cliche.

I have said, and kept my word. I would never date a married individual. For if they would leave their spouse for me, they would do it once again.

But I will admit, I would date Sam /if he wasn’t married/ He has a sense of humor, he’s strong when he needs to be, but can let his ‘hair down’ as well. a fine father too.

I wonder; are we ever going to see his daughter in the new strip? This would be an interesting idea – especially for the ‘rebooted’ strip.

Sorry, happily married who don’t cheat are NOT a rare commodity…..or are you saying happily married men are, period? And coming from one of our best, most intelligent posters to boot….c’mon!

Has anyone noticed that some posters (better put that in the singular) ALWAYS end their posts with a “LOL”, which is like playing two chords of canned laughter for themselves. Somehow, I get the feeling that he is the only one laughing. Pitiful.

@tsull2121 Thanks! I’ve been a DT reader since the 60s. One of my strongest memories is when Tracy chased a carload of bad guys into a tanker truck and it exploded. I recall how frightening seeing those handprints burned into the glass. About a year or so ago, someone had that piece of artwork and sold it on Pawn Stars.
