How many Republican/TSE Party legislators ran on a platform of shutting down the government?

When we default on our debt, he’ll be celebrating like it’s a Superbowl win… at least until he sees how that affects the deficit.

I just love Reid’s comment to CNN reporter Dana Bash on the NIH and children’s cancer:

Bash: “But if you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?”..REID: “Why would we want to do that?”

Reid controls the Senate. Bachmann is nothing but a vote… one among 432. But, math has never been a strong suit of the Progressive Left.

In another one of my classroom discussions over the current situation in Washington, healthcare, the lack of credibility of our politicians (at all levels), many interesting points were made. My favorite “the republicans shoot themselves in the foot every time because they haven’t offered intelligent alternatives to the democrats healthcare package. They just want to maintain the status-quo.” Bingo!John Boehner, listen to the next generation that will soon be running things…

O and the Dems want a dictatorship that involves no negotiations. Maybe they need to read the Constitution.

It’s easy to suggest “Just let it take effect, then fix what’s wrong with it.” I’m not 100% opposed to that idea. But the status quo for Washington is once it’s established, it becomes the new norm and every change is an up-hill battle. Why do you think Pelosi wanted to pass it so we could discover what was in it? If Dems were serious about their actual jobs of reporting to their constituents, they never would’ve let that fly..That being said, all I was saying was that Republicans have put forth proposal after proposal from before Obamacare was enacted up to last month. It’s just never reported. I blame the GOP for poor marketing as much as the media, for whom Dems don’t need to market as they break wind and it’s newsworthy..In the end it’s about perspective. Liberals point to Obamacare and say it’s about healthcare – which it is. But conservatives aren’t against the health care part of it, in fact we love the theories and the table discussions. Despite the rhetoric, we’d love for everyone to get healthcare through traditional means. But we all understand something liberals don’t or refuse to acknowledge: Obamacare means a loss of more freedoms, more distribution of wealth, and more taxes put upon individuals and businesses, big and small, in order to cover those who cannot afford it.

Nice logical fallacy there r2varney. Your red herring uses an appeal to consequences making it an irrelevancy..Reid on the other hand, like many other Progressives in the Democrat party have made a large number of very poor public statements on the government shutdown..I blame both sides in this but assign it about 60 – 40 Democrat and Republican respectively in culpability.

Jimmy Kimmel went out and asked people which they liked better, the ACA or Obamaccare. Most people said the ACA.Ed Schultz went out and asked the same question, and most people knew the ACA and Obamacare are the same thing.

^ For Republicans, it’s not about health care at all. It’s about hatred for Obama.

LIBERALS hate the Constitution? Apparently you haven’t READ it! Obamacare is settled LAW now, approved by all three branches of government. Do you really think a minority of ONE house trying to kill it is "defending the Constitution?

You’re right we had nothing to do with it. All EVERYONE ELSE had to do was FALL IN LINE and OBEY like good little sheeple. Not hard to understand. Not our fault.

Go back to school or something! You know nothing, but still you run your mouth. To think that many good people died for your right to express your opinion. The least you could do is educate yourself with actual real information, if for no other reason, than to show respect for those dead.Unless your long term plan is to work on-air for fox “news,” then just disregard what I said. They’d probably take you the way you are now.
