if you spend $1.54 on a wedding (recent Yahoo story) or $1 million on a wedding you are no more married with the big money wedding than the less expensive and it has been my observation that the less expensive wedding folks stay married longer and are happier than the ones that break the bank for a day. If folks spent as much time and emotion on the marriage as they do on the wedding there would be less divorce.
