I must agree with you. Reagan was a poor actor and non-existent as president. While income for the very wealthy grew, the average worker saw his income go down. Doesn’t anyone remember weapons for hostages? This was a program he started before he became president. If only Ollie North could tell the truth…………

If you subtract the unnecessarily hostile language, Omnius is right, but he doesn’t include the Iran-Contra fiasco, which nearly got Reagan impeached, until Poindexter took the fall.

Poor Benson, delusional as usual… Obama is no Reagan. In fact, he is in the running with such loser Presidents as Millard Fillmore, James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Warren Harding, or Jimmy Carter as one of the least successful and worst Presidents in our nation’s history.

“The Acting President” did an excellent job of telling the real truth of the Reagan who served, his real masters pulling his strings.

Grenada, Iran-Contra, North, Meese, Poindexter, yes, “Reaganomics” that would have totally bankrupted the country if Reagan hadn’t also implemented the largest tax INCREASE in history to try to balance the books. (like adding the military as “employed” to make the dismal unemployment picture look less severe!)

While I DO agree with “trust but verify” (having been shot at by Russian made weapons in ‘Nam), Obama is NOT Ronnie. For one thing, he’s definitely not afflicted with Alzheimer’s, which became pretty obvious toward the end of Ron’s first term.

Alleged “Indecision” does not mean his strings are pulled as tight as Reagan’s were. And of course, the biggest obvious difference to the extreme rightists in America: Reagan was obviously NOT born in Kenya!!

Reagan was a successful B movie actor. Obama was not. That may be why he went into politics. To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw:

He who can does. He who can’t runs for public office.

Obama is the ultimate Hawaiian beach bum slacker. The man has not done one significant thing in his whole life other than get elected.

Actually, “trickle-down economics” was based on an economic hypothesis known as the “Money Market Multiplier”, wherein an amount of money put into a system has a potential to create a boost greater than the total effect of the original amount of money.[]Unfortunately, even more conservative individuals such as myself have to admit that the MMM is tricky to pull off, as it requires the money to flow freely and consistently through the system in question; if anything interferes with this free and consistent flow (such as people stuffing their money in their mattresses instead of taking it to the bank or governments taking too much in the form of taxes) then the Multiplier will break down.
