I used to live in Iceland. Chess is pretty big up there. There was a large tournament that they covered on the news every night, right after the weather, with a big board to show the best moves of the day. They also carried the finals live on the radio: “Gisli moves queen’s knight to queen’s bishop four.” Then three minutes of silence.
