"It was those cowards George H W bush and Tricky Dick cheney who didn’t smack down Saddam right after we won Desert Storm when he used chemical weapons…George H W Bush was criticized by many for not removing Sadam after liberating Kuwait. My understanding is that he was warned that going into Iraq could destabilize the country and turn it into a quagmire we wouldn’t be able to leave. I think history will judge the decision to not invade as prudent.

…That the criminal nincompoop who allowed this to happen still walks free in his gated spider hole in Texas.

Never forget that your votes are needed for So You Think You Can Dance, American Idol, The X Factor, and the new season of Honey Boo Boo is coming soon. There’s your circus, call now for your delivery of bread. For $2 more, you get cheese. The cartoon reminds us that those who fail to learn history, and from history, are doomed. I know there’s more to it than that, but it applies.^I think Omnius, like me, saw industrial smokestacks at first, though I realized before scrolling down that it was the towers.I could be wrong, often am.Respectfully,C.

MIchael: I’m sure you’re also aware that Mitchell laid out exactly how JAPAN would attack the U.S. at Pearl (though he didn’t count the ships anchored) IN 1927!!

Our history is littered with “intelligence failures”, usually a lack of intelligence to see what is hidden in plain sight.

It shouldn’t be lost that bin Laden’s “big thing” was simply the basing of U.S. military forces in Saudi Arabia. The fact that he was a religious nut, like so many on ALL sides in our “war on terror”, is yet another example of ignoring what’s hidden in plain sight. (Just as the Syrian civil war is largely to kick out the Alawites, AND the Christians they’ve long defended!!)

Who is the cartoonist claiming is forgetting 9/11? It seems to be remembered, both publicly and privately, on a massive scale throughout the United States. My (now ex) husband was working in the WTC that day & I didn’t find out until after noon that he had gotten out. My office building was evacuated as a possible target & people were wandering around the streets of Manhattan like zombies, wanting to help, to donate blood, to do something, & feeling utterly helpless. The dust was mixed with pulverized people — there was no way to help & no way to absorb death on that scale occurring so close at hand. It’s one thing to hear about it happening halfway across the world on the news; it’s quite another to smell it & see the smoke down the street.
