I equate Assad to being the Hitler of this generation. He’s a dangerous madman who won’t hesitate to kill anyone who opposes him in his own country. If we allow his madness to go unchecked we will be very sorry later as his cancer will spread to other countries.

“What happens when no one stops those who use chemical WMDs?Everyone uses chemical WMDs.”I think there’s real concern that giving Assad a pass means future tyrants may be quicker to use their chemical weapons. But Iran & Iraq used chemical weapons back in the 80s. It did not lead to widespread use.

All well worth reading. The most interesting thing, IMO is the Times’ piece was written by Alan Grayson, a liberal Democrat. The Daily Caller piece was written by conservative Kenneth Timmerman, who is known for banging the drum for action against Iran, Assad’s main sponsor.

Get away from war-mongers! Obama’s worst mistake if he does this air strike!

We need to create a third image. Our choices should not be limited to these two, as it is now.If instead of pussy futting about and being concern about arms falling in the arms of Al Qaeda, the US and the West had given the weapons and training to the Free Syrian Army, Al Qaeda would not have been able to infiltrate the revolution, as they were the one who received the weapons and the money from Saudi, the UAE and Qatar, while the secular, moderate, true patriots, were given excuses and nothing else. What else could the fighters go, to the people who have the money and the weaponry.THIS IS THE US AND THE WEST FAULT. we have created the dilemma above. now we reap what we sowed. We can still change the calculus, but bombing Syria now will only embolden the Al Qaeda types. What we need is a read concerted effective policy of arming, training and supporting the free Syrian army and for Saudi, Qatar and turkey to stop promoting their jihadist factions and allow for a untied front of the secular and moderate Syrians to defeat the murdering tyrant.
