Unfortunately they will not be. Voted out of office. The country is being destroyed the attitude that the House and the Senate are horrible, but my guy is just fine. Very little change is expected. We need term limits.

It seems to me, beyond all the partisan sniping, that there is a real moral dilemma here. Overall we have decided that weapons of mass destruction are so bad that they are illegal. It’s hard to see how Obama was wrong to say that the use of chemical weapons would require some kind of response. Now when push comes to shove, the situation looks pretty complex, and other countries seem to willing to say, well, too bad, but there’s nothing to do about it. I think there’s a good argument that Obama is in fact about the only leader who is even trying to take a principled position here. I’m not sure he will be able to pull it off, but it’s a defensible position.+Even so, I can’t agree with the position he seems to be taking. As someone else has said, it’s kind of crazy that the response to a humanitarian crisis is to blow up more people. We need to develop other kinds of responses, non-military responses that will still have some effect. In smaller scale situations, that’s the point of non-violent direct action, as theorized and practiced by Gandhi and Dr. KIng and others. Is there any way that non-violence can be scaled up to deal with larger conflicts?+And of course there is the real danger that this whole region is falling apart. I don’t think there’s any reasonable argument that it’s all Obama’s fault, or all Bush’s fault, for that matter. Most of it is home-grown. But when a situation is so volatile, I worry that anything might cause things to spiral out of control. What we need is fewer bombs, not more bombs.

forget the red line. to go alone and kill people to try to get other people to stop killing each other is so crazy that many people don’t see it. President Obama is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.There is no way ANYONE can be leader of the “free” world and always do the right right thing. Fukushima is having a china-syndrome as of this month, things are 1,000 worse than a year after it happened and there is no way it can get anything but worse. They can’t build storage for the radioactive water as fast as it is being produced.Considering that, what any one politician does matters less and less. The whole pacific ocean has become polluted.
