Because the cruise missile strike will mean nothing to Assad. We do not need to be getting into this – and our intervention will not help the civilians in Syria.

We used chemical weapons in Vietnam, so what’s the problem here?

While Assad IS a creep, and a liar, is it totally lost on folks that he’s been trying to put down a rebellion? It’s a CIVIL war, that we shouldn’t be drawn into.

In Viet Nam, we were on the wrong side, after betraying Ho in ‘45 and ’54, and forcing him into a political “left turn” the Viet Minh weren’t actually into, but in Syria, THERE IS NO RIGHT SIDE!

When will we learn to NOT screw up in defense of friends who actually may not be. Turkey and Jordan have proven to be “friendlier” to us btw, than our “other friend” that constantly gets our support no matter what they may do. (Yeah, I know, Turkey’s solution to the “Kurd problem” isn’t all that cool either!)

While I still fee the US shouldn’t dictate internal politics in Syria, or elsewhere, IT IS INTERESTING that Kerry just laid out some rational arguments, that POLITICAL not MILITARY actions will be the final solution in Syria.

It was also interesting to see Aljazeera America report the facts presented, including the “dificulties” from both sides (or actually, all sides). Meanwhile, flipping over to Faux “News”, the whole analysis was all about whatever Obama does, it is WRONG, but of course, Iraq and Afghanistan under “W” were totally rational and huge successes!!

CNN also pretty much said the facts, but held with “don’t do it”.

That Kerry, and others, keep talking about the “horror” of nerve agents, as compared to “conventional” weapons, continues to “disturb” me, and my PTSD, because I’ve seen the results of both, and frankly, nerve agents are benign by comparison. The killing of innocents IS atrocious, but for me, that included the children mutilated and killed by “shock and awe”, to get rid of Saddam.

BTW, it WAS totally appropriate for Secretary of STATE Kerry to lay out the facts first, including NON-classified information, to the nation, before the President speaks. Let’s just hope his evidence is more truthful than that presented by Secretary Powell before the U.N., that he has confessed was his worst moment in public service, as it was a LIE!
