My husband laughed when I talked about second breakfast, snack one, first lunch, second lunch, snack two, after nap snack, and pre-dinner. Then the youngest and I got sick for a week and he stayed home and saw for himself…

The movies make pipe-weed seem like some kind of marijuana expy, but the books paint a different picture…much more like tobacco.

When I get hungry mid-morning I often mention second breakfast but had forgot where the term came from. Thanks for the reminder, read those books a looong time ago.

The only time I have a second breakfast is when I have a very light one before my workout. (1/2peach and scoop of yogurt, slice of toast) and regular breakfast later.

I figured that last part would get Peter’s attention, given how much he eats during a normal day. Just where do those hobbits pack it all in? All the food they eat?
