In this day and age, all people should be educated but Heart is right, education does not necessarily mean college.

Not everyone has the career desire, mental capacity or self-dicipline for college but training (education of some sort), opens lots more opportunities for an interesting and fulfilling life.

There are lots of carreers that take as much brain power as college but require training not provided by colleges – skilled artisans for example. Even manual labor such as construction requires askill set not provided by colleges.

I’m a bit uncomfortable with the message of today’s strip because there are a whole lot of hard-working, intelligent people out there who don’t have a college education and also don’t need one. My father is a very good metal worker who stopped school and started his apprenticeship at age 16. Should I tell him that he is no better than lay-about Paris Hilton because college wasn’t an option for him?

Especially for a strip set in the USA I find this message highly dubious because your college education is famously expensive and unaffordable for many.

Some famous rich person didn’t go to college and somehow achieved success. Therefore, college = worthless forever. Ultimate logic.
