You missed the point. Ohman was pointing out the right wing hypocrisy of not going after Ted Cruz the same way they went after Obama. Everyone knows Ted Cruz can’t become president even if he wanted to.

That hasn’t stopped a bunch of people (including Trump) claiming darkly that Obama isn’t a citizen despite certifications, evidence, and birth certificates. Fundamentally, it is almost certainly anchored in racism: Obama “isn’t one of us.” Yes, he is. He was born in Hawaii to an American mother.The only POSSIBLE source of doubt is in that “natural-born citizen” is not a legally defined status. But that doesn’t apply to Obama, whose status is clear. That came up in the case of John McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal Zone — again, demonstrably outside the formal US, but in a US-administered territory, to US parents. Congress declared he could run, so that settled that.But Cruz was NOT born in the US, a US-controlled territory, or even a territory that later became a state (like all of our first few presidents). He is demonstrably not “native-born” by one definition, and indeed had dual citizenship. So seeing the cognitive dissonance in action is truly satisfying. By any standard, Obama’s citizenship status is better than Cruz (or McCain), as he was born in Hawaii. But even if you accept the birther nutjobs (and there is no kinder word I will use after the vast quantity of evidence provided), Obama’s status is at least EQUAL to Cruz — but Cruz is a white, conservative Republican.What’s it gonna be, fellas?
