Phoebe knows the drill. Now, it’s time to know if Florence is like the other unicorns, or if she is capable of show adaptability …

A nerd unicorn! I didn’t think there was such a thing.

Nice frizzy mane Florence has too. With that and the glasses, she’s reminding me of Bernice (or was Beatriz?) from “Luann.”

Florence must have gotten those glasses from The Far Side of the forest.

I wonder what (who?) Florence’s pet is…

If the unicorns have libraries, Florence may be a librarian. If they charged any form of rent to other creatures who live in their demesnes, she would also make a good landlady…

Oh Phoebe unicorn burn! Also She’s a lot better looking then I thought. Kind of more like Unfortunate eyes then nostrils but I love her mane or is it her main? her main mane? whatever I like her hair. I was expecting some goofy looking Unicorn but she kind of looks normal-ish. maybe her quirks are to come?

But! if you compare florence’s nostrils to marigold’s nostrils, you can see where the name may have come from. Flo’s are holes that are closer together and marigolds are pretty little dots not close together.

plus a unicorn is a unicorn after all, and would have sublime beauty to us

Florence may not have unfortunate nostrils…but yeeshk, that mane, that tail! What does she do, get her kicks by sticking her horn in light sockets?

Oh deer. I hate to sound like an old maid. But those glasses do make her appear far older than she probably is. But then how old CAN unicorns be? 100? 200? I must admit she appears like those stereotypical librarians.

No offense to Ms. Simpson, BTW. I’ a bit more mature than most, and remember those types of glasses; ‘Granny glasses’ I believe they was called.

Florence’s glasses and mane style work for her.

Human’s are not pets, as any horse or cat will tell you, they are “Staff”.

I think Flo is the unfortunate nostrils. She’s acting like a snot towards Phoebe.

Well Marigold’s manners are certainly better than Florence’s. Phoebe was introduced as a friend, not as a pet, and the introduction should have been acknowledged. Tut, Florence. Tut!

I have an idea that Florence’s appearance might be based on a bad high school photo of Ms Simpson.No shame, we all have at least one bad high school photo.

The bearer of bad news has her ears back in the first panel. Make yourself really scarce PHE, you don’t want to know what bad news is for an immortal.

Phoebe needs to introduce Florence to contact lenses.

I once saw a movie called Black Moon. In it, a young woman is chasing after the ugliest unicorn you can imagine. It was a Welsh pony with a horn and ugly paint.

Her nostrils actually seem rather normal to me. I mean they certainly aren’t HEAVENLY (there is a visual difference), but they certainly wouldn’t be unsightly to anyone but a unicorn I suppose.
