All life in Milford is centered on the high school. Everybody knows Gil is Kaz’s boss. No matter how much of this farce is real or scripted, why was Kaz designated as referee?

Marty’s doing a great job, by the way, playing along with the whole gag instead of jumping on the chance to “expose” Gil for taking part in a charade. Could this be a detente in the Gil-Marty relationship?

All this defies intelligent description anyway.

I have always loved Gil Thorp, but this plot line is absurd!!!

It’s time for the “Fugitive” to jump in and save the day.

Well if the “Big Herk” is banned in most states, the women must get pretty lonely on a Saturday night.

Heck with the “Fugitive”, a buff, fit and trim Jamie comes out of the crowd and proceeds to deliver a can of “Whoop-ass” on Herk and Hairy, then he turns on Gil for exiling him for all those years. Just saying!!!

Someone called the Hercules interference a few days ago.

In all reality, I called Pop would use a hold banned in most states on Gil.

Don’t worry, The Fugitive will jump in to lend Gil a hand. Oh, wait, maybe not.

The comments on this strip are by far the best of any on gocomics – great stuff! :-)

Kaz looks a little bit taken aback that Hairy would interfere. Something bad has to happen here. Either a life changing injury or Pops has a massive heart-attack in the middle of the ring and goes to the big wrestling show in the sky.

Gil lapses into a coma and missed the last eight months of this story line, waking up just in time for summer break.

I think Steve called it. The Fugitive gets involved.

As a point of order, though, while the outcomes of wrestling matches in the classic era were preordained, much of the action in the ring was improvised—usually by the “heel” or bad guy. In my misspent youth, I frequently got ringside tickets and, on occasion, you could hear the wrestlers discussing their next moves.

@ "The Old Professor’…….. you are 100% correct. I read a ton of comics on line everyday. I laugh more at the comments on this one than any actual punch lines on most comic strips!

I was drawn to this strip by the excellent art work [drawing]. I’m dumping it as it has never made any sense to me, the characters AND the sports and pseudo-sports make no connectable or sensible storyline.
