And it is ABSOLUTELY true that this war must end. It was stupid from the very beginning. You cannot kill an idea with a weapon. And you most certainly cannot make people stop hating you, even if they have no reason to do so, by invading and occupying their country and killing their friends and relatives.
For those of you who can’t believe the above, permit me to illustrate: 2000 years ago, the Romans nailed Jesus to a tree. The Roman empire is gone, but people still believe in what Jesus had to say.
This “war” is a drain on lives, resources, and families, and will never achieve any of the many stated “goals”, as they are unachievable with weapons. Talk about “low-information”…..

If the body had been kept for burial, the rhetoric and ceremonial posturing as to where and under what circumstances, and the arguments over whether Islamic customs should be followed, which despots would attend, how to set up security, and on and on, would have created chaos, possibly world-wide, for years.
Plus, it would give radical Muslims another place for a pilgrimage, setting up the possibility of clashes between and among more pro- and anti- groups than you can shake a stick at.

Short of giving every human being on earth a lobotomy violence will not stop, short of letting nuclear missiles fly over central Asia, Middle East, Africa followed by a brutal police crackdown upon all remaining countries, you will not end terror, aside from inability to stop violence there still is an easy matter of bending the English language, you can call a cyber attack terrorism (indeed in some cases it is called as such).
The best solution is to try to look out for each other, to limit losses in whatever way possible, not imagining an end to all events but a reduction. The war on terror has accomplished little more than to greater divide people between countries, and to enfranchise a home style paranoia that pushes individuals away from eachother
