I’ve never understood tats either. Getting something permanent when you’re 20, will you still want it when you’re 40, 50 or 60? Even if it still looks ok, you’re tastes will change, and you may hate it later. Tat “artists” make big money on 20-something’s lack of foresight.
When my son (at age 13) asked his mother about his getting a tattoo, she said it was OK so long as he made sure that the ‘artist’ was accredited and used sterile needles and ink. The subject dropped.
