The media discussed (endlessly) the racial elements of the case for the simple reason there were racial elements. No point in denial. If this was white on white or black on black, it would have been on page 3 with the other personal altercations and it would not have become an international story. The media do not make the story, people do.
When the so-called white guy with a gun pursues a black guy despite police warning, calls him an effing coon, accuses “people like him” of always getting away with stuff, I’d say racism was introduced into the mix.
I don’t care what someone else said, I’ll make up my own mind based on the facts..If the media is to be criticized it is for saturation coverage and exploiting an event for ratings. Ultimately, its people that make it a racist issue and the media are just the conduit to society. Unfortunately there are the Limbaughs and Hannitys who deliberately make stuff up to fan the flames.
