Bill, honestly, this strip is hilarious when they are actually playing soccer, but kind of boring when the balls are talking or they’re playing another sport. That’s my opinion, anyway. But I loved the mini soccer.
When I first started Cleats, I did 365 soccer strips a year. That was a daunting task and limiting as far as the audience. Some people wouldn’t even look at the strip because it was about soccer. Then I noticed my kids and my friends kids were involved in more than just one sport, so I decide to reflect that in the strip.
And I get a kick out of giving inanimate objects a voice.

Actually, both footballs and baseballs are made out of cowhide these days.
