Grew up in Jersey and my grandparents lived “down the shore” in Ventnor, the next beach town south of Atlantic City. I spent a lot of kid time there and also in Ocean City, which famously, or infamously, is a dry town. To get a drink you have to go over the causeway to rowdy Somers Point, back on the mainland.

I’ve been in Jersey on business a few times, around the Bridgewater area, but never been to the shore. I have been to Old Orchard Beach in Maine though.

Drove through it once. I prefer Ocean City, Maryland.

The Salvation Army does good work. Now, if it were the Red Cross, that I could understand.

One of my best vacations ever was when I was about 17. My family- Mom, Dad, and us 7 kids went to Seaside Heights. I have a family photo of my Daddy and the kids sitting on the steps of the house we rented. Its on my Fridge. That was a looong time ago.
