Catnip (aka catMINT) is a member of the mint family and like all mints, can be identified by it’s square stems.

(Not to be confused with square roots.)

sorry but catnip does NOT smell like mint…. IT grows wild around here and just another stinky weed I’m allergic to….

My cat hated catnip. Wouldn’t touch the stuff. Turned his nose up at it. Of course my cat also though he was a dog or a dwarf panther. Anyway, he was not your ‘normal’ cat.

Only about 60% of cats have the receptor gene that reacts to catnip-if yours doesn’t try valerian root-some cats will go for that.

Be VERY CAREFUL with gum around pets. Sugar free gum is made with xylitol which is deadly to dogs and cats.

Peekaboo will have minty fresh breath!

It’s is a contraction for it is!Rose should realize that Peekaboo doesn’t pussyfoot around when she wants something. It’s hers for the taking.

The toothbrush did ‘jump out of the cup and walk away’. Peekaboo will return the toothbrush to its rightful owner in due course.

A cat that steals toothbrushes, now that’s a first.

You are correct, they don’t tate things the way we do. They don’t taste sweet for instance, but they do taste fat. However, it’s more the smell with peppermint. My kitty will happily get her head stuck in the empty mint tea box we let her bat around.

My cat doesn’t steal the toothbrush, but loves to spread the Q-tips all over.

We had a cat that stole toothbrushes, combs, and brushes. We learned to never leave any laying out on the counter…

We had a cat once that liked water, another that loved to chase the crinkly wrappings from a cigarette pack (parents smoked).

Peekaboo is so cute, how COULD anyone not appreciate?Mom was a cat person. I’m TOTALLY a bird person – the mask I’m wearing here has fallen feathers from my Cockatoo!
