    I remember doing that exact thing. Ours were in the back of a WW2 jeep. It’s a wonder I’m not dead or cancer ridden already.

    I remember the mosquito abatement trucks too. Our mothers would hear it coming and call us inside.

    Practically every ill in society is attributable to the legislative agenda of the do-gooders. The DDT ban – leading to the malaria deaths of millions of humans around the world, but mostly in Africa – is such a well-intended stupidity.

    As I understand it (and, no, I didn’t bother to recheck before posting), they did quit using DDT pretty much everywhere to try other methods. The mosquito population exploded and malaria deaths became more common again so they went back to DDT.
