No, masterskrain, those are not the refugees. Those are the people being deported from third world countries for slovenliness. Haven’t flown since the time we got bumped to first class Chicago to Los Angeles, were given free drinks, footies and rack of lamb for dinner. Zero incentive to fly today. The only reason there aren’t chicken and goats on board is their seats would cost too much. “Get your kicks on Route 66”!
Flying then was an expensive and heavily government-regulated affair. The airlines could afford to compete on accommodation since there was little to no competition when it came to price.
Forgot to add that the glamor will eventually return: when the plebs are too poor to fly, and entire planes are converted to strictly first class seats.
