I had an uncle that used to really enjoy pulling pranks on me like Brutus was pulling on Hattie. I would get all tounge tied and stumble over the second or third verse and he just laughed. At last I looked him square in the eyes and said one time straight through, “Rubber baby buggy bumpers three times fast!” I was feeling pretty good with myself and thought I did really well, till he asked me the next riddle..

“RAILROAD CROSSING LOOK OUT FOR THE CARS, CAN YOU SPELL THAT WITHOUT ANY ’R’s?” .If nobody gets it Saturday then I will print the answer in Sunday mornings column.

A plane crashed on the border of the US and Canada. Where did they bury the survivors?

No, no, no, Brutus. That’s “Red rugged rubber baby buggy bumpers.” And, for those of you who don’t understand such things, it’s a tongue-twister, and you teach them to children to help develop their language skills, just like a lot of children’s games are really about developing hand-eye coordination.
