Sounds like a bunch of old women I know. Come to think of it, a bunch of old men, too.

Completely off topic here, and many of you may have seen this, but I thought it was so cool and moving that I wanted to share…

Today’s episode is almost as bad as the old joke: “I’ve having an affair.” “Really? Will it be catered?”

I’m Back, temporarily at least. For any newcomers, I was a regular here but suffered a comic burnout about 8 months ago. I have been peeking in at the comments here at AC now and then. I think by limiting myself to just this site I can stick around for a while.-I don’t have anything of significance to add right now, but plan to jump in shortly, when the mood hits me. Hello again to all my old friends.

The garden is too far from the house to see it properly. I would more like have it shortly out the door. I put the regular battery back in and sometime after 4:30 AM it stopped doing the light. The LED for this thing is kinda bright, and that’s good, just that if further testing keeps on this path I will tell the store guy that I would gladly do a two-fer-one as I would find it necessary to augment the inboard solar panel with an outboard one. It is possible that a “name brand” battery may like to replace the generic one too, or maybe just having a second battery on there as well as more “paneling” will make these lights hi-performance. Why can’t stuff just be balls to the wall good right from the go ???-Since I grew up with Kittehs, we should be fine.Happy sunny Thursday.

I always wonder that too. It’s very frustrating. I like your dark purple text.

Well here are my Kitties… I promise they won’t scratch you or anybody else who pets them. To be honest… I’m not even sure if my Avatar is visible to anyone or not. I can see it on my computer on my comments but the “Operation timed out” when I uploaded it.

    Can you see it OK?

    Hope your day is wonderful.

I originally posted this here one year ago but I think it is worth an encore.-—In 1957 Reg Smythe was asked to create a cartoon series for the northern edition of the Daily Mirror. The result was “Andy Capp”, a flat-capped, pigeon-fancying, work-shy character, who first appeared on Monday, 5 August 1957. Smythe never revealed the inspiration for Andy, but it was widely assumed to be his father, who separated from his mother before the war. Smythe may have been reluctant to confirm this because Andy was a drunken wife-beater. In this early cartoon, published on 20 August 1957, Andy bluntly explains to Flo that one of his pleasures “‘appens to be knockin’ yer about.” Smythe later said that this “was a dreadful cartoon and it was terribly naive of me to have done it,” but there were no objections at the time, and in 1958 it was the opening cartoon in the first “Andy Capp” album. In the same year “Andy Capp” spread to all editions of the Daily Mirror, and then became a strip, being regularly voted Best Strip Cartoon of the Year from 1961 onwards. But it was not until the following year that Smythe stopped making jokes about Flo’s being beaten if she showed independence. By the time of Smythe’s death in 1998, “Andy Capp” was syndicated to 1,700 newspapers in 52 countries, but its violent origins were hard to forget. “Oh, Andy Capp”, Homer Simpson said approvingly in an episode of The Simpsons from 1993, “You wife-beating drunk.”

@Chalkie jLoved your classic of Andy and Flo taking turns. I remember another one where Flo knocks Andy down, and he’s proud of her for “finally punching her weight.” In a lot of the classic fight clouds, Andy is winning but not without a lot of strenuos effort, and not by much.@FanolioWelcome back!

@Number Six-I know what you mean. It’s like clapping at the end of a movement instead of at the end of the song.I posted the link, even though I’m not a real big Led Zep fan. I do love Heart though, and their tribute brought a lump to my throat.

Watching those men react to the rendering of their creation by a group who sought to emulate their style to begin with, brought it to mine too.-My favorite girl group !  Not to take anything away from Janis and Grace, but I was nearly double age ten by then, had a job and so could run right out and pick up that Mushroom label disk, which I still have, and spin the hell out of it !   The fact that they looked ‘saucy’ in the gate sleeve pics was a bonus. -Having heard the songs on the radio out of San Francisco, I didn’t care what they looked like….. I was massively impressed by not only sweet sounding girl voices but some mighty good jamming arrangements going on behind it..Watched a few minutes of the “veggie kid” ‘toon…… not one I would have followed as a kid unless it was in between a couple I really liked and was just marking time on the Saturday morning cartoon barrage. Warner’s was probably my biggest, and Popeye, Felix The Cat (sixties version), Woody Wood Pecker and more. Did enjoy Davey and Goliath though. ..Today’s MUST be good ! …………Mikey hasn’t lampooned it.(yet ?)..Thanks for the Bound And Gagged, bevie. I don’t run across it much these days.
