No, I do think they mean “last.” I just received a mailing from my class. They have united 10 classes into one reunion event. Given that we are all from the 70s, it makes sense, but it is telling.
My class has their 55th reunion this year and I have never been to one. I’m still in touch with the couple of kids I was close to and the rest, I haven’t missed. Time is such a peculiar concept.
My class of 1950 has “mini reunions.” An afternoon lunch and visiting until everyone drifts on home. Invitations go out to locals and anyone in the state. We know no one will come from any great distance. Do this about every two years.
Of the 35 kids I went through 12 years of school with, all but 4 are still kicking 55 years after graduation. Not bad odds, and a bunch of us have been married more than 50 years. It was a neighborhood of blue collar, hard working families. We are all struggling with health issues, though. Got to expect that.

I went to my 25th three years ago and was shock at how many of my classmates had passed.

I have noticed how old my class have gotten didnt realise that THEY were getting that old.

We only had one class reunion, about 4 years after we left school. Nobody really had much in common anymore.

(sigh) Sixty years last month. Already, they’re starting up a ‘general re-union’ of all graduates of that school this coming October.

I left school in 1969 at the age of 15 and it was the greatest relief of my life. I then concentrated on educating and culturing myself.
