Yeah, why can’t they have new ideas like covering up the murder of our ambassador, using the IRS to destroy your political enemies and snooping on US citizens phone calls and emails?

Did I just witness one of your compatriots provide the example of what the cartoon is satirising? (only not so much ideas as spurious criticisms)

ConserveGov sneered, “Yeah, why can’t they have new ideas like covering up the murder of our ambassador, using the IRS to destroy your political enemies and snooping on US citizens phone calls and emails?”

Ideas are not wanted, solutions are wanted. Government is not the solution to every problem, but neither is it the source of every problem. Even when govt is the source, the solution is rarely the absence of govt, but rather better govt. I wish the GOP would become the party of personal liberty that sought to solve our problems with a light-handed government. Sometimes it seems the GOP even thinks that is what it is. In reality, it is nothing of the kind.

excused himself with “Sorry don,t have time to check the spellin”

That’s all right, dude, there’s always the morning-after pill in case you get (her) pregnant. When one has a burnin’ desire, one should just do it! Nudge, nudge ;-) Say no more! But next time, just bring along a condom. I mean, run the spell-check. Tch. Sorry, always getting my morals and grammar mixed up. I betcha there’s some moral-nazi out there who is going to be pedant your arse for your spelling.

That’s what he said? I thought he had a problem with gay undocumented prostitutes and that the gubbermint is responsible for making their job market tougher. Or something like that.

No, ms.Ima, this former education Nazi complains, too…however, the "spellin’"oversight is revelatory. No time to check the spelling or the facts, perfectly willing to reveal that the comments are not thought out, merely knee-jerk spewing, and that he is too uneducated to know what he is talking about. If he wants to be taken seriously by intelligent people, he should at least make an effort.

Why did the GOPers only start to get upset about embassies being attacked now and not the 54 times under Bush?

Neither party in the US has truly new ideas, as for running an election campaign you want to have the most stable polls so as to decide how you are going to campaign. This is an unfortunate, regressive and stagnant train of thought brought on by both parties in an effort to win elections. That said there are some other issues of bringing truly new ideas in that it can shake up an economy, heck a plan that would cause a 4% drop in GDP one year and a 7% rise in the next would still become an issue as that year may be an election year. There is also the issue in the order of reform, more often than not it is thought of like thisEconomic> welfare >social > Healthcare > Military / administrative > Financial (situation)This can fundamentally be described as" Real Americans care about (insert hot issue here) and not about petty (insert issue here)"Now the fundamental issue is that the dedication of more time for legislation in one area has no effect, bad ideas are bad ideas, good ideas are good ideas. The roll of administrators should be to try and create good ideas and weed out bad ones, by simply dedicating more time without ideas you simply manage to toss away good ideas in other sectors.

There also tends to be the issue of thinking in the order ofWelfare reform → Economic reform → Financial reform.************************************************************The truth is both economic and welfare reform are a bad place to start. both see immediate failings due to an immediate financial contraction. This is in part due to the fact that the financial system is build on consistent exponential growth, Growth tends to be inconsistent within the span of a decade and as the economy reaches saturation becomes gradually more linear. Reforms to the system so that it can sustain shifts in economic growth can significantly soften blow from welfare cuts, or allow for more dramatic economic reform. However most financial reform focuses on security versus prodding towards industrial and technological financing.
