I think Obama should require congress to explicitly give him permission to send troops to Syria, and also levy the taxes to pay for it, based on the cost of our previous war (Iraq, which all experts say was a much more straight-forward task than Syria will be, and cost over one trillion). Then see if the Republicans still want to get involved in this civil war, or if putting skin in the game makes them run away again.

Also the fact that we overthrew a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED President in Iran, which led to the Shah, which led to the hostage crises, etc, etc, etc. THAT was Eisenhower, the man concerned about the military-industrial complex.
