We’ve got Sparkle dazed in the back of someone’s pickup; Clone-Moon Maid speeding off somewhere; S. Tim Sail and Zy Ghote still hanging in Diet Smith’s office; Honeymoon on the alert; and now we need another sub-plot?! Okay; so Hy Pressure is surely a villain with that name and trying to gobble up one of the few remaining family farms near Tracy’s city. Will this divert the MCU from their already heavy case load?

Yeah, this is ridiculous….the climax of the story this strip has been touting for the past year….and they divert to THIS in the middle of it? C’mon…..

It must be something in the water that makes the parents in this strip give their kids stupid names that would never happen in the real world.

Well, looking back at the backstory of the Wheatons, they had a dairy farm, so I’m pretty sure that’s where MM/Mysta is headed and I don’t doubt that Sparkle may be there too.

@fredville, I really think that the stories are woven together in a more complicated pattern than you are expecting. I knew there would be a plot involving Sparkle starting up. As that gradually starts up, the other one will gradually wind down, but they are also probably somewhat connected, through Mysta, no doubt, I’m thinking.

Funny, you’d think Nelly would be at LEAST 50 by now, she was older than Jr., back in the day

My Dad always took his car to a mechanic whose name was Al Tinker – in real life! He owned and operated a Sohio Station and was a very good mechanic.

Just to be fair, “Blanket” is a nickname. His actual name is Prince Michael Jackson, which admittedly ain’t much better, but at least his birth certificate doesn’t say “Blanket.” I forget whether he’s the older or the younger—MJ named BOTH his sons “Prince Michael,” with the young being Prince Michael II. Still better than George Foreman naming ALL his sons “George.”

I was stunned seeing none other than Nellie Wheaton, the preteen girl with acrush on 88 Keyes in 1943, in today’s Staton and Curtis’ strip. But wait, maybeshe ìs the grandchild of the original Nellie (who should be in their eightiesnow) called like her grandmother, as is often the case. And who IS this HyPressure, and what’s that story got to do with Moon Maid and the Space Coupestory? Maybe that’s where the truck with sleeping Sparkle is headed (but wasn’tit in the mountains?)

Hey, I’ve been pretty darn complimentary and supportive of Mike and Joe’s work…..love the art, return of old favorite characters, storylines, etc……and I LOVED the old 88 Keyes story…..look forward to a new one with Nell and the rest. That said, I don’t put down a book when I am nearing the climax and pick up another, then come back to the original, don’t try to listen to one song til it’s near the end, switch to another, then come back and finish listening……My point is, we’ve built up the story slowly to an action packed climax….and right in the middle of it we change moods to the slow pace of another story build up. Furthermore, the focus has always BEEN on the storyline build-ups…..the “returned-to-in-progress” endings have usually been rushed, incomplete to a degree, and left us hanging on some details, as it seems almost as if the old story is now boring and getting in the way of the new one. We’re still wondering the fate of Belle and several other criminals from past stories, as well as having other questions. Pleeeease don’t start with this “interwoven” stuff…..while true, Dick Tracy and others obviously will appear in both, THIS aspect of the Moon Maid story centers around Dr. Sail and company, and what happens regarding that. We don’t need a preview or teaser to keep us reading afterwards, we’re all going to be here, c’mon. And finally, I come here for an exchange of ideas, not to worship…..while most of you are great, a certain few seem to get very upset dare anyone criticize anything about this strip. Well, I’m 90% positive, but will continue to offer a dissenting voice the other 10% if I feel that way…..and always respect the right of others to disagree with me….wish you all a great day, laterzzz!
