The only reason to assume that hispanics will continue to vote Democratic is to assume that Republicans will continue to be gratuitously cruel, racist, and damaging to the American economy. There’s a way to fix that, but it would require changes in policy, and Republicans (Marco Rubio in particular) are too cowardly to do that.

Well,,,, that would certainly solve the problem of illegal immigrants from Mexico, now would it not? To say nothing about making our southern border as totally meaningless as any other border between individual states of the US!!

Polls are showing that the more people learn about this bill, the more they dislike it. Kinda like Obama(non)Care.

That’s why this Gang of Morons is trying to ram through this bill before even more people find out.

Mexico would actually be the 51st through 81st state, as it has 31 states. Boy howdy would THAT change the makeup of Congress!

If you think that a 13 year waiting period is ridiculous, how about a 23 year waiting period (Philippines F4) or a 20 year waiting period (Philippines F3, Mexico F1, F2B, F3) or a 16 year waiting period (Mexico F4) or a 12-13 year waiting period (Mainland China F4, India F4, Philippines F1)? And my understanding from listening to my friends gripe (and some give up and go home) about it is that the wait times can jump around so you really don’t know how long you will be waiting until the state dept gets around to your form. Personally, those in the country without visas should be allowed to get a visa without a citizenship path. They then could apply (with no penalty for being here before) for a visa class that does have a citizenship path and get in line with everyone else.

japan requires sufficient capital or skills, either personally or within family, to support oneself. let us add that to the bill.

Until we get the Mexican government to pay more than lip service to improving their economy, and patrolling the border from THEIR side, we’ll continue to have problems. And where do the Repubs want to cut to pay for the BILLIONS it would take to secure the border to their satisfaction? I think ALL in Congress who want to SECURE the border should take themselves, their staffs, AND their bitchy constituents to the border and patrol it themselves!

Obama is also confused about British Prime Minister’s first name.
