When one of your own, Dick Cheney, was in charge of things, you thought nothing of rushing ahead with a full-blown “pre-emptive” strike against another country; but you condemn Obama for either doing nothing at all or for not doing enough or for doing anything. If there is one thing that is certain, it is that those national Guard troops that were mobilized and sent to the Middle East, would far rather be assisting the border patrol on our borders (especially the southern border, where most of our illegals are coming from)!!
Israel has the capabilities, and they are already on the spot. Let THEM decide just what to do about the Syrian situation!!
The best options require a unity of purpose among a diverse group of nations and cultures.As we are unable to unify our own legislature, I doubt we will be able to unite nations who no longer believe the USA is much better than other superpowers who grew militarily without improving its own infrastructure and education systems. The world looks at how the US has declined in the last twelve years and no longer trusts us. As our own people do not trust each other, the world may be right. The Republic of States that used to be the United States of America is no longer as United as it once was, and contains too many who would like to do to here what is being done in Syria, Egypt, and other places. Greatly increase union representation for employees.There are more employees that do not want union representation then ever before, they clearly understand that the union dues do not benefit them, but the union and their political agenda, which many members do not support.As more and more employees become aware and more states enact right to work laws, unions will only become further marginalized. Unions served their purpose long ago by raising the awareness to working conditions, but they have abandoned their true purpose, worker protection and moved to being political groups.Time you face that reality.

Intervention usually makes things worse. (There are various kinds of intervention, and the more invasive the better the justification should be.) But now and again a situation arises which demands attention from outside — genocide is the obvious instance, though there are others. Of course there’s a complication, since there’s no easy definition of genocide, and no generally accepted list of the other situations that might justify intervention. Does the situation in Syria demand outside military intervention? The calculations are not easy. In my opinion, no, because intervention is very likely to make things worse.
Serbian “Christians” were slaughtering their Muslim neighbors, Clinton stepped in, stopped it, and we didn’t lose a single member of our military. That wasn’t stupid. In Libya we got rid of a dictator, without a single troop loss, and later, our Ambassador made a poor judgement call and we did lose four people.
How do these actions compare to Afghanistan and Iraq with the loss of over 6,000 Americans, the destruction of two nations, and hundreds of thousands killed, and more displaced from their homes, perhaps forever?
Said it ever time it’s come up, we need to keep our noses out of Syria, unless the entire U.N./NATO communities step up to the plate to end the carnage of an INTERNAL struggle that is a CIVIL WAR, of religious factions where we cannot “win”, period.
Well, I don’t claim to know what Obama wants. If he does want to intervene, he’s certainly taking his time. But I form my own opinions, and I am quite willing to disagree with Obama.
