If you think the system we’ve been using for the last 20 years is a good one then you have not had to really put it to use.I’ve experienced the system at work and it needs massive correction.
“An average 100,000 a year alone die from lack of any care.”Even if this factoid is accurate, wait until Obozocare kicks in fully. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
“From a Christian Vocation to a Secular Profession to a Private Business to a Government Entitlement.”1)Health care predates Christianity and Judaism.2)The vast majority of the health care in this country is still provided by the private sector.
It’s that bad, eh? Come to Canada, see a system that (mostly) works. I go to my doctor, she treats whatever is wrong, she bills the government, I never see a piece of paper.
“Yes it does, but Obamacare is no help in correcting anything; it is adding to the problems.”That wouldn’t surprise me seeing as how it was originally proposed by Republicans during the Clinton Administration.
You are not allowed to talk about a “bridge” right after a post talking about Ted Kennedy.-Mary Jo Kopechne was a pre-cursor to Obama Care and cutting medical expenses.
In my experience the wait times are not long. If I call my family doctor in the morning I can see her in the afternoon. If she sends me to a specialist, it can take a week or two, depending on the procedure. I’ve never had a serious medical problem, but friends of mine have seen a specialist immediately — within a couple of hours — when the situation was serious. Most recently, a friend was diagnosed by her family doctor with esophageal cancer and she was operated on the next day. In some provinces hip replacements can take a while — though in Alberta (as DrC reports) they can be done in weeks. In Ontario perhaps a month or even two. In any system there are going to be problems. But most the negative reports about the Canadian system are not accurate. In my opinion the most important feature of the system is that you never ever have to worry about whether or not you can afford care — health care is just as available for poor and middle class people as it is for the rich. Nobody — nobody — goes bankrupt paying for medical treatment.

the one positive thing about obamacare is that it may save social security by letting old people die [ independent payment advisory panels]
