Let me see now: The Louisiana Purchase of the entire Western half of the Continental US. The purchase of Alaska (even with putting up with Sarah Palin, it is still a positive for the US). The original Intercontinental Railway to bring the riches of the Western US into the entire US. The winning of both WWI and WWII. Vast amounts of governmental facilities that not only ably serve the people of the US, but also have already paid for themselves many times over, such as: Boulder Dam, Grand Coulee Dam, the entire TVA project, and most of the infrastructure of our electrical system, the Alaskan Highway, in Los Angeles alone, the Memorial Coliseum, and the Griffith Park Planetarium. The entire federal Highway system, which is the lifeblood of interstate commerce. The FAA which keeps commercial aircraft flying a safer mode of travel than any other mode. Social Security, which keeps tens of millions of our deserving elderly out of abject poverty, while having a far less administrative cost than any other retirement plan in existence. Or how about NASA, which succeeded in placing Americans on the moon, and has explored just about the entire solar system with its robotic explorers, to say nothing of having been the driving force behind the entire satellite industry. I could easily go on. Your knowledge of American History probably would not even begin to cover the success rate of the federal government.

Most of these overwhelming federal governmental successes would require an entire library of books in themselves. If you do not like all of this success that represents this truly excellent and great country, then perhaps you might just make life better for your fellow Americans, and seek better success elsewhere, in such a place as Somalia, I would think!!

Your original post was totally negative of ALL federal governmental programs. I merely pointed out where such an inclusive statement is far from the truth.

Like any other very large institution, the federal government certainly does make mistakes from time to time. But from my own post it can easily be seen (if you would even wish to) that over all our government has been not only a very great benefit to Americans but even a great benefit to mankind as well.

I must admit that I do grow very, very tired of all the negativity that I see on these forums, especially from the ultra conservative side of the extreme political spectrum. But even occasionally from the other extreme as well. And then the ultra right wing even likes to claim the high ground of patriotism. What a crock of bull that is!! If you truly hate our current government as much as you seem to in your posts, then exercise one of your rights and just leave, and be miserable somewhere else!!
