    Actually, that happened.[]During the 1800s, Utah gave women the vote. []The “Mormon Women Bloc” soon became the swing bloc within the territory; if the women of the LDS faith were motivated to go to the polls, they did so in numbers large enough – and in such complete unity – as to swing entire elections.[]Suffice to say that in the 1870s Congress inserted a clause into one of the anti-polygamy laws that stripped all women within Utah – and all Mormons – of the right to vote.
