She should have found it before Jerry got his beer, his wish would be that Verl wait on him hand and foot. She would to if it makes him happy. Burl is looking like he would like a try at a wish……

Verla’s been waiting a looooong time for Jerry to propose.Not that there’s any consistency or timeline in this strip, cos Julie goes back and forth and the story changes to whatever fits the joke….

but in an old strip he gave her a present to celebrate 20 years of dating each other.

From the “looks” and “grins” it appears that everyone but Verl is in on the joke. Yeah, Verl, Jerry is set, he’s got a beer—and that actually took some effort on his part—and then he’s got you—no comment.

Yes, Verla hopes that Jerry will wish for the same thing as she . . . and that wouldn’t happen even if he had no beer. Too bad she never met anyone nicer.

Jerry knows perfectly well where Verl is going with this and is wishing for a way out of the conversation. Burl is enjoying his discomfiture.

Thanks Leaky for the tip yesterday, Our garden center didn’t have your remedy, but they did have “Zoo Poo” and they said it works. Will let you know…

Actually, for once the to do list isn’t so dumb. People do hose down their driveways to clean them. (Not me, but I know some who do.)

A bigger question is why did she roast a turkey in the heat of summer in her kitchen? I guess they have air conditioning, huh?
