I can indeed see such a registry for convicted felons. Anything other than that would indeed be an imposition upon the reasonable privacy of honest American citizens!!

I know Miss Smith you were violently raped and assaulted.. We just arrested a man accused of rape with a history of a dozen previous rapes but it would violate his civil liberties to take a cotton swab from his mouth. If we could get him to drink a cup of coffee than everything would be legal. But remember we are pro women.

Perhaps I’m missing something here. If I commit the crime of littering and they take a DNA sample while fingerprinting me, what’s the problem? The only way this turns on my is if I commit another crime and my DNA is found.I don’t intend to commit any crimes, especially crimes where my DNA is involved. Why should I be concerned about this ruling?Of course, since I still have the illusion that I live in a civil society where the majority of my neighbors are willing to work together for the common good, I’m not afraid of registering my guns either.Perhaps I’m just not afraid enough of my gov’t?Curiously,& Respectfully,C.

Actually, this is a landmark case: it is one where I agree with Justice Scalia. I think that makes one.

What happens to low-information voters will happen to you as well. Big Brother makes no distinction, and in most cases, the more information you have, the more Big Brother wants to control you.

Is your Congressman on the DNA Registry yet? If not, make some calls. It’s not a problem if they haven’t done anything illegal!

Good Grief, what are we coming to when I actually have to agree with Ima on this site. But then, an analog clock that no longer even runs is still correct twice each day!!

Anyone of “recent”, actually not so recent, service in the military is in a DNA registry. The other issue is, should corporations be allowed to PATENT YOUR DNA? So far, they can.

Hmmm, will a DNA sample be used as part of gun purchase background checks?
