English but just because I had a a really great teacher in high school (who managed to get this has-learned-for-half-year among have-learned-six-years-or-longer actually learn the language better than I know my first and second foreign languages in the order of learning).

I loved English enough that even though I had completed all my graduation requirements Junior year, I stuck around for my senior year to take six more English classes.

Math, believe it or not. Got straight A’s all four years and was taking introductory calculus the last half of my senior year. Now I can’t add 2 plus 2 without a calculator. Sigh.

Well if I have to pick one subject, I despised English Lit less than the rest.

I studied to be a math teacher, but got really, really ill and the part of my brain that does numbers quit on me. Now I teach history, which was really my favorite all along. (Somebody was trying to tell me something.) It’s like visiting a foreign country without leaving your seat! Hubby says you can ask me a single question and I’ll run all day.

Funny how nobody here said ‘gym’. Wasn’t my favorite either.

For my very short HS career it was gym and lunch. In college it was my earh science/geology class. The teacher was excellent. Also took a great scuba class in college. I’ve always liked to stay active and try new things.

Mine were art and English (which included literature) and the level of my classes was “college prep”; I hated gym and typing on those behemoths that needed strokes of steel (switched from typing to drafting, where I excelled) and wrote/forged notes to excuse myself from gym and study halls as much as I could. to hang out across the street where I could study while having a Pepsi and music on the juke box.

Gym, biology, and history. Especially if the teacher was great at making it very interesting. Even gym could be disliked with a disaffected teacher.

Biology and English literature. I especially enjoyed the practical portion of biology. Ended up with a BA in English Literature anyway.

recess. No really it is math, but not till later when i took it for my apprenticeship for aerospace machining. The teacher was a retired engineer and he made math fun. He showed real life applications and that helped.

I used to see this every year. All year long you try to get the kids to do something particular in gym class; when you reach finals and all they’re doing is taking tests, all they want to do is play.
