@ ConserveGov – Interesting how a person can be “not guilty” but still be responsible. How much of the protections given by that “Umbrella” was meant to give him plausible deniability? No one tells him so he doesn’t have to admit knowing? I hope that is not the case. That is not leadership. Leadership means taking responsibility and resolving the issues. Mr. Obama is disappointing me in that regard.@ Robert Landers – CEO’s don’t get elected. The political dynamics in a board room are much more ‘civilized’ and final than those of our tribal parties, the Reps and Dems. The sins of the one are the sins of all. If one Republican is corrupt they all are. If one Democrat is showing pics of himself on twitter, ALL of them do. That said, I do believe Mr. Obama needs to show leadership on this issue and make it resolved asap.^So many of our fellow commentators say ALL dems are stupid, or ALL conservatives are dumb. It does not advance the debate nor does it Unite our neighbors. Thank you, Mr. Landers, for not being one of those narrowminded voices, onguard to attack message and messenger alike.Respectfully,C.
I know this won’t go anywhere but I’m going to try. I’ll go as far as to accept that Obama may not have had any knowledge of the three scandals, but where’s your source on that these are manufactured?
1. Benghazi talking point drafts have been released complete with signatures of who changed the wording.2. IRS was specifically targeting certain groups applying for tax-exempt status for “special review” purely on their name. The managers and emails have proven this.3. The justice department has clearly documented signed warrants seeking the phone logs of dozens of AP and Fox News reporters.
These are all documented facts. Again, if BO didn’t have any knowledge of these facts, then that will be vetted. But if it is the case it’s telling in itself.
As to “Umbrellagate”, I would like more information. Did Obama directly order the Marine to hold the umbrella? Did Obama order someone else to order the Marine to hold the umbrella? Who supplied the umbrella? Was it paid for with taxpayer money or a loan? What happened to the umbrella after it’s use? If satisfactory answers are not forthcoming, I demand a full investigation by an independant counsel!
When one “leader” kills thousands of Marines and gets a “pass” from his supporters, and those same supporters go after his successor because a Marine (which is part of his duties) holds an umbrella, the intellectual deficit is staggering.
“But the more we learn, and not from the witch hunt for partisan gain in the HoR, the less these are like what the RIPs tried selling us to begin with.”.As I’ve said before, you learn nothing when you listen only to what you want to hear.
All these scandals, so called have been initiated by the GOP. They haven’t been the result of leaks from Obama’s staff or any other source.
Fair enough, his own party may throw him under the bus (they already have), but they would be unlikely to involve him in a scandal if it could be avoided.
Why do you think there was anything that happened that he should address? If he has the dignity to ignore specious accusations, it only increases my respect for him.
Congress, with the GOP leading, is behaving like two classes of preschoolers squabbling in a schoolyard. If they were genuinely addressing any of the serious issues which face this country today, that would be one thing, but they aren’t. They are manufacturing smoke and mirror scandals to discredit a seated President, who they have very deliberately and effectively hobbled with every obstructive tactic at their means.
No one here who supports the Right side of the aisle has ever explained to me why they refuse to address the issue of the GOP’s oft expressed committment to see Obama fail.
Manufacturing scandals is part of that committment.
