Do you mean the war Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and 80 other Democrats voted for?

Probably mean the war that the administration of the time lied about, giving Congress false information which induced them to vote for it. However, given all that, why would you be pushing for a NEW war?

This is a problem the Tea Party must face. They talk about paying less taxes but they aren’t willing to give up: The Imperialism of America, reduced military, reduced Medicare, or Reduced Social Security. Where all the money goes.

They seem convinced that all the money is going for Foreign Aid (A relatively insignificant portion of the Federal budget) and wasteful spending.

I think Obama should tell the congress that if they want him to intervene in Syria, (A) they have to actually declare war as required by the constitution, and (B) they have to pay for it with an income-tax surcharge based on the cost of the last war. The GOP would instantly become a group of peace-loving hippies, and our soldiers would stay home.

Very true. I don’t hear anybody with any influence on the right advocating sending troops to Syria.

Morin is just doing his job as Pres of the Obama Fan Club. Trying to throw out non-issues to deflect attention away from Barry’s trifecta of scandals.

" Show me one conservative group that advocates intervention in Syria. If you can’t, then STFU."

Read John McCain’s article in last week’s TIME magazine. He may not be on the Tea Party’s speed dial, but he is convinced we need to intervene. You’re welcome.

@Adrian Snare – I’m sure there are conservative extremeists in the Tea party but I don’t think it’s extreme to expect the government to rule with as few regulations as possible and to be efficient with our tax dollars.

I also don’t think it’s extreme to chaffe at the idea that my government should be in the business of transferring the fruits of my labor from me to someone else under the concept that I don’t need it and someone else does.

Like everyone else, I feel I work hard for my money and I don’t support the Robin Hood concept at the government level. I tithe, I give to charities, and I give of my time. I don’t expect to be robbed (under threat of imprisonment) because the government wants to be charitable with my earnings.

Ditto on the conservative wardrums for Syria. I don’t hear them other than from usual GOP warmongers like McCain and Graham.

Since Syria exports less oil than Taiwan and Belgium, you’re not going to hear of a “security” situation like the one that occured in Iraq to topple their relatively steadfast dictator.

Typical chicken hawk. Won’t pay for the wars nor volunteer to serve in the military.

@Chillbilly – I think a more appropriate phrase is “Let me keep mine”.

I see too many people who use the government to stick their hands in the pockets of others for their survival. Food stamps, SSDI, Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc. They are the ones who are voting for democrats to continue to fill the trough from which they draw.

There are very few people who say “I don’t work very hard for my money” So it isn’t surprising that they would resent having their money taxed away so that it can be handed out to someone else. I know I don’t like it.

Separate those from the Antigovernment crowd that reject all forms of government intervention until they want something as in Natural Disaster relief.

Contrary to popular belief I am not anti-government: But I would prefer much of that work done at a level of government that is responsive to the people who have to pay for those activities.

When someone such as yourself makes statements such as:“The only way to end the war now is genocide. And frankly I am willing to have in itelligent discussion on whether or not that policy should be implimented. Unfortunately, it never will be.”You show yourself as not only a NAZI in nature (only in this case it would millions upon millions of Muslims, innocent or not, instead of the same kinds of numbers of the Jews). What incredible progress for all of mankind that would be (even if it did not so scare the Russians and others that we would then have the ultimate in wars to destroy ALL of humanity)! And even if it did not do that, it would so anger the literally two billion other Muslims in the world that the USA would become a true “Great Satan” to even moderate Muslims throughout the world!

As for your stupidity in helping the Christians, even our efforts in Iraq so angered the majority of Muslims there that over two million Christians had to flee that country (the irony is that many of them then flew to Syria, of all places)! Of course, why then even admit to even beginning to follow the teachings of Christ when he states “Love Your Enemies…..”! You sir, are absolutely NOT a Christian in attitude, as unfortunately, so are far more American Christians than should be!

Finally, I do make every attempt to either make no comment upon such evil posts as yours, or try to remain moderate in my comments upon such. But that post was so very evil in supposedly stating that it might even be remotely possible that the country that I both served and loved, would be even willing to commit such genocide (and the only way to even do that much evil would be with nukes) and kill and maim literally millions of men, women, children, babies, and even the unborn that you and other ultra conservatives seem so anxious to protect from abortion, that I am amazed that anybody on these comment boards can even put up with such evil. By the way, I also flagged your post, not because of any actual bad language issues, but because such pure evil does NOT belong in any such discussions as we here engage in. Even the most ultra conservative on these discussion boards has not made such evil posts, even about their hated President Obama. What you said in your post goes way beyond the limits of free speech, well into the realm of shouting “Fire” in a crowded theater. Or perhaps you are just the biggest and most evil internet troll I have ever encountered on these boards (or anywhere else on the internet for that matter)!!!

McCain said that we should send arms to the rebels. That is not military intervention son.

We send dozens of countries military aid every year and it is not considered military intervention. Israel and Egypt being 2 of the biggest recipients.
