I feel kind of sorry for those kids who are growing up in an era where their lazy parents only take cell phone pictures. There will be no negatives, no paper prints to record their childhood – only small, grainy low resolution photographs that will be lost the next time mama has one too many beers and drops the cell phone into the toilet…
I’m not sorry to get rid of negatives and having to develop pictures. I take 90% of my photos with my DSLR… much better pictures than any camera with actual film and I have more pictures that are good because I don’t have to guess how it turned out. If you want to talk about grainy, low-resolution, I only have to look at the pictures that came from negatives.The only time I take pictures with my cell phone is when I don’t have my camera with me.Every generation becomes more and more documented to the point where there’s almost no privacy anymore. That’s what I miss…
I have a photo – taken with a small digital camera – of a professional photographer with all the pro gear standing next to a woman with a cell phone, both photographing the same scene. It speaks volumes – to me, anyway.
After seeing Maria’s mom in the Sunday strip, I finally figured out why Maria looks like a young Rita from “Working Daze”.Maria’s mom is one of Rita’s daughters, Rita is Maria’s Grandmother! I smell a cross-over strip coming! (kidding!) ; ))

Obviously he wants this to be a high quality photo Maria, and I have yet to see a cell phone camera do that yet.
