Although I subscribe to many strips here @ gocomics. I like the coloring over at The Toronto Star. Moon Maid’s horns are flesh color there. Regarding Mr. Bardoll, CREEPY!
Bardoll (yeah, right; like that name isn’t canting) is obviously Sail’s muscle to be sure the others follow his master’s wishes. An enforcer, if you will. But Clone-Moon Maid seems to be having last minute doubts about the way the plan is developing, even though she does want to see Diet Smith (presumably because she wants to get a Space Coupe for her own purposes). There are so many ways things could fall apart soon!
I’m a little puzzled at all the “clone” talk – especially since Ghote and Sail seem less and less legitimate with each passing day.
On one hand, Mysta foes must like it because a clone Mysta is a fake Mysta and would have to be written out of the story pretty quickly – unless they intend to keep her on as a bad guy.
Which is the reason I’m curious because it seems that many, though not all Mysta fans seem swept up in this cloning craze, too.
My concern would be that replicants and clones would do far more damage to Dick Tracy than the Space Era ever allegedly did, or could possibly do. The least of which would be that crooks would no longer die and police could no longer use DNA to figure out who anybody is.
Nevertheless, after yesterday’s revelation that tsull2121 ‘s postage stamp is Sparkle and Junior’s wedding, well, that just goes to show how deep feelings seem to run on this issue.
(Up until yesterday, I had thought his icon was one of those John Lustig “Last Kiss” remakes!)
Vista Bill – perhaps you can help jog my memory on this one, but wasn’t there a fuel additive brand called Bardahl that featured a thug (that looked like Bardoll) in the ads? Something about “robbing engine performance”?
Thanks Stag! Not the image I had in mind but perhaps I wasn’t too far off. I remember a rough looking, stubbly classic 1950s burgler looking guy. Castrol perhaps?
Howdy everyone. I’m late into the game here. I just learned yesterday, by complete accident, that the incredible Joe Staton took over the Dick Tracy art reins back on March 14, 2011. Staton has always been one of my favorite comic book artists and Tracy has always been one of my favorite comic strip/pop culture characters!
I feel that Tracy has been reinvigorated with new life! This is fantastic! I couldn’t be more happy with Staton attached to this now!! I have a lot of strips to catch up on, so I need to get reading! So far I love what I’ve seen! I hope Staton draws Tracy up until at least Tracy’s 100 year anniversary!!
I like the way Joe has drawn MM today as smaller and more petite than Stellaluna. Gould always drew her as slightly smaller than Earth women. The Moon Men were also slightly smaller but had muscular physiques.
Mysta wanted a chocolate shake? When a whole panel is devoted to this, I have to think it is either a clue or will play into the story in some way soon (at least before it melts).
I was pleasantly surprised after my comment yesterday to learn that your “time limit” has been lifted. Free at last, free at last etc. You guys have been doing good work the last couple years, and having to cut short good character’s appearances put a crimp in things for me, and from some comments others. Now, hopefully you can broaden your scope to Villain, racket, investigation, confrontation, escapes, chases, heroes in peril and the eventual demise of the lawbreaker making for much better and complete stories. I never was a big fan of Gould’s “Lunar Phase” so the present story isn’t one that overly interests me. I know I’m in the minority on this, but I now look forward to some of the real “good old day’s” stuff. Keep up the good work

What’s Frankenstein doing on “Dick Tracy”?
Ashmael almost 11 years ago
Yeah, he looks more like a thug than a doctor. Maybe he’s one of Ghote clones…

Bit of a filler today… that is to say, not much info about what is actually going on

Bardahl? Wasn’t that a motor addative?Maybe Frankenstein dropped in to have his bolts tightened. But why is he and Dr. Ghote going to follow them?

If Bardoll ain’t a bad guy, then Mysta ain’t a blonde. And if Bardoll is “Dr. Sail’s associate,” Dr. Sail is a bad guy, too.

“I just wanted a chocolate shake,” ha! At least Mysta has good taste, even if she’s fibbing.

Personally, I’d rather find out how Sparkle is (Not to mention poor Belle, last seen bleeding, possibly to death, on a gurney)

Yes, there’s something about Bar-Doll, alright- and it looks like MystaClone is picking up a vibe that she doesn’t like.Sparks may be about to fly!

…..and MystaClone has got stainless steel horns, again.

Bardoll works his day job with the IRS. He’s passed the proficiency exam for DOJ, though.
